Notes on Writing a Faith Statement

Writing a Statement of Faith

A statement of faith is a declaration of what you believe about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Church, and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  We would suggest a statement of faith be between 350 and 600 words, though that’s not a rule.

General Outline:

  • What I believe about the Bible
  • What I believe about worship and prayer
  • What I believe about the mission of the church
  • What I believe about being a follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Why I want to become a member of the church and a follower of Jesus.
